Ceramic Braces Turn Yellow

Ceramic braces turn yellow. They are made of clear or tooth coloured ceramic brackets which are attached to the surface of your teeth with clear or tooth coloured wires. The stains on the bracket cannot be removed as it will damage your bracket and it will break. Some wayss to clean them may be with water flossers and baking soda in toothp. The ceramic brackets themselves resist picking up color from food or drink but the bonding glue and the rubber bands that connect the braces will turn color if you re not careful.

Ceramic braces also known as clear braces are an orthodontic appliance used to straighten teeth and fix a patient s bite or minor jaw discrepancies. Ask your orthodontist not to put white or clear o rings on them. However the clear elastic ties rubber bands used to hold the wire into the braces can turn yellow over time regardless of the bracket used see picture below. This will not happen after one or two times but if there is a habit of not brushing teeth frequently enough the brackets will become stained and instead of being clear braces the braces will be yellow braces and stand out looking like.

If your orthodontist is using low quality clear braces they may break down over time and discolor whereas this is not an issue with high quality braces. They get stained easily. If teeth are not brushed after something is drunk or eaten then the brackets could begin to turn yellow. Do white braces turn yellow.

There are two different types of white clear braces. The yellowing of teeth can be due to multiple reasons after wearing orthodontic braces. The orthodontist bonds a clear ceramic bracket to the tooth surface and attaches ligatures tiny rubber bands to thin metal archwires to realign the teeth. In most cases ceramic braces are equal to metal braces.

This tends to lead to discoloration of the teeth to some extent and after going through with the orthodontic treatment the last thing you want to see is your teeth turn yellow.
