Antique ceramic drainers or strainers from the late 1700 s and 1800 s would have been part of a matching dinner set and would have been paired with a platter or tureen. These lovely ceramic pieces would have been placed inside the matching tureen or platter to drain the liquid from food items being served. Made of heat resistant silicone it has a cute pig design that holds and makes it easy to dispose of coagulated oil and fat.
