Ceramic Cups Stuck Together

Pour the ice cubes out of the top cup.
Ceramic cups stuck together. So i have a tumbler closer to a pint glass than a highball glass that somehow got stuck in a ceramic coffee mug. Chill from the ice cubes causes the top cup to contract while heat from the hot water makes the bottom cup expand. Dry the wet plastic cup with a towel. One suggestion was to spray pam around the rim of the bottom bowl no luck.
A couple weeks ago i was stacking dirty dishes and two of my pyrex bowls got stuck in each other. You can use this to separate the glasses. Understand how glass responds to heat. Attempt to pry the two cups apart with your hands.
Step 3 remove the bottom cup out of the hot water and pour the ice cubes out of the top cup. I had two bowls in my sink i let them sit there for a while while water ran over them and now they are stuck together. Again i was scared to force it too hard in case it would snap in my hand and cut once more. Step 4 grasp the top cup with one hand and the bottom cup with the other. Glass expands when heated and contracts as it cools and this is sufficient to stick glasses together in some cases.
